weeks 5 - Techniques and Equipment

Identify the techniques/equipment you will need to achieve a cohesive portfolio in keeping with your client’s style.

The ANU style projects a prestigious happening environment with a plentiful opportunity’s. This is portrayed in many different ways, mainly photographs. Judging from their website and other sources, they always have the large visible ANU logo on all the images. All their photographs are simple yet effective.
(if you click on this box the ANU logo will become visible)

Each image is clear, crisp, bright, vibrant and high contrast. By the looks of it most of their outdoor images are done during sunny lovely days. So when shoot my outdoor location images, time of day will be crucial.

I have noticed a lot of their images on the web site have been cropped differently to fit in certain sections, and various locations. As such the use of panoramas.
Another example such as this, they have used this creatively cropped image as a button on the page.

Their is some instances where their is a key person, key people or even a key object. Which is out of focus (intentional) or they have used motion blur to enhance the feelings of the image. This technique is a good way to generalize the public without singling anyone out.

The equipment i am going to be using to photograph and successively capture the ANU style is going to varying depending on the situation. For location I will be needing mono blocks or portable flashes(depending on the situation), reflector(also to depending on the situation), POLARIZING FILTER!!!, tripod and a series of lens ranging from wide angle lens to long focal length zoom lens. For studio I will be needing reflectors, light meters back drops ect ect.

Here is a link to the new ANU merchandise shop, which has a lot of various gifts and what not with the ANU logo on them. This kind of equipment would be perfect for a studio shot!
